After a very long wait, Netflix’s live-action One Piece is finally preparing to make an epic return with Season 2, which has been announced for 2026. With Season 2 confirming a release window at long last, fans have set their sights on the series’ future and its prospects for a third season, which was excitingly also confirmed at One Piece Day ’25 held just a month ago. That said, one big lingering concern is how long Season 3 will take to release, which is a valid concern considering the massive three-year gap between the first and second seasons. Luckily enough, however, Season 3 of Netflix’s One Piece just got a very promising update.

According to a report by What’s on NetflixSeason 3 of Netflix’s One Piecewhich has been codenamed Project Arcadia, will begin filming from November 24th, 2025, and will last until June 19th, 2025. The production listings have been cited as the source of this filming schedule, and although unverified, the timeline does line up with a statement by Joe Manganiello, who plays the part of Crocodile, to CinemaBlend earlier this May in which he revealed that he’d be heading back to film the next part of the story “later this year” after taking a break between Season 2 and 3.

Netflix’s One Piece Could Have Season 3 Ready Sooner Than Anticipated

For fans of Netflix’s One Piecethis production update might just be the most promising news yet, as it hints that the series could finally do away with the multiple-year-long gaps between seasons. One Piece is famously a very vast franchise and a decades-long saga that would otherwise be impossible to fully adapt into live-action within a single lifetime, especially with such huge wait times between seasons. However, with Season 2 releasing in 2026 and Season 3 wrapping up filming in the same year, this means Season 3 could be released as early as 2027.

As such, fans would have to wait less than a year between seasons, which would be a huge improvement on the three-year wait between the series’ initial debut in August 2023 and Season 2’s projected release sometime in 2026. Of course, back-to-back filming schedules could end up being too demanding on the cast down the line, especially with the filming lasting as long as 207 days, as seen with Season 3, but it’s likely the showrunners and producers will find that balance soon enough, and maybe they already have. Regardless, the new update bodes very well for the future of Netflix’s One Piece as a long-running series, and fans can only dream it continues to find the success to keep it going season after season.
