A new nationwide anime cinema event will start in six German cities in a few weeks. We summarize.
Anime cinema with festival flair
In cooperation with the publisher Manga Cult, the cinema group Cineplex, the Babylon Berlin and the Central & Union Filmtheater Ludwigsburg, Eigakai brings cinema and Germany premieres to the big screen between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. in two cinemas.
The start in Leipzig will take place on May 31, 2025 before going to Ludwigsburg on June 14, 2025 and on June 15, 2025. This is followed by Mannheim (June 21, 2025), Kassel (June 22, 2025) and Berlin (July 19, 2025).
Project manager Domenic Wassiljew, license manager at Manga Cult, explained as part of the announcement that Eigakai not only wants to show exciting films in the cinemas, but also to capture the Japanese festival atmosphere: “Germany deserves an independent anime relegation” “.
The sale of day tickets will soon begin via the official cinemas websites. Individual tickets are available at a later date. In addition, limited support tickets and early bird discounts are planned.
