Just 24 days after its theatrical release on September 19, 2025, “Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc” has exceeded the sales target set by the Japanese film distributor TOHO. We summarize all the details below.
More than 5 billion yen
On the day of its release, “Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc” attracted a total of 272,000 viewers to 421 Japanese cinemas and grossed an impressive 420 million yen (around 2.4 million euros).
This successful start meant that those responsible at the Japanese company TOHO, which is responsible for cinema distribution, assumed, in an optimistic estimate at the time, that the film could achieve total sales of 5 billion yen (around 28.4 million euros) in Japan.
With grosses of around 5.4 billion yen from 3.55 million visitors, the film has already exceeded this goal after just 24 days and is expected to increase these figures in the coming weeks as a third round of exclusive gifts has been announced.
From October 18, 2025, moviegoers in participating cinemas will receive a Shikishi autograph card with a drawing by author Tatsuki Fujimoto showing a “what if” scenario with Aki Hayakawa and the angel Devil in school uniforms. You can find a picture of this as well as a new teaser video for the film below.
In this country, “Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc” can be seen in cinemas from October 23, 2025 with German and Japanese language output.
