A few days after the theatrical release in Japan, the first official figures are now available for the first part of the “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” trilogy-and these directly confirm the first records. We summarize the details below.
Broken two records
After the big crowds of visitors caused chaos in the Japanese cinemas on the opening day, there was no breath for the cinema employees even on the following days.
On the contrary: On Saturday, Sunday and the holiday (Umi No Hi) on Monday, more people visited a performance. The following number of visitors and insolent results resulted from this:
Datum | Visitor | Sales volume |
July 18 | 1.115.637 | 1.646.605.200 Yen |
July 19 | 1.266.172 | 1.840.442.100 Yen |
July 20 | 1.420.804 | 2.037.820.200 Yen |
July 21 | 1.327.235 | 1.791.548.300 Yen |
The “Demon Slayer” film is not only the second most successive movie of the year in Japan (according to “Detective Conan”), but also a record holder:
On Sunday with 2,037,820,200 Yen (around 11.8 million euros) with 1,420,804 visitors, the highest daily sales and viewers of all time were reached. In addition, the opening weekend achieved the highest 3-day result in Japan with 5,524,867,500 Yen (around 32 million euros).
In both cases, the previous film “Mugen Train” was responsible for the previous best values, which was 1.7 billion yen on his most successful day and 4.6 billion yen on his opening weekend-however, these sales were generated despite the restrictions by the Covid 19 pandemic.
In Germany, the first »Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle« film starts on September 18, 2025 with German and Japanese voice output in the cinema.
