New details on the new TV anime adaptation were announced on the X account of »Ghost in the Shell«. You can find a new teaser below.
Start next year
The new anime is entitled “The Ghost in the Shell” (Japanese: “Koukaku Kidoutai”) and starts on Japanese television in the course of next year. A specific start date is still pending.
The Studio Science Saru is responsible for the production of the SCI-Fi series, in which Moko-Chan (Assistant Director at »Dan Da Dan«) takes over the leading position of the director and Tou Enjou (»Godzilla Singular Point«) wrote the script. Shuuhei Handa (“Scott Pilgrim Takes Off”) creates the character design.
The original mana of the same name from Masamune Shirow, which was published in the “Young Magazine Kaizokuban” from March 1989 to September 1991 and has previously received several anime implementations. A German -language release was first carried out in November 1995 by the Egmont Manga publisher.

Advanced technology in 2029 allows the exchange of body parts through cybernetics, including the cyberbrain that is digitally networked. The human consciousness, the “Ghost”, resides in the “Shell” of the cyborgs.
The Hacker Puppet Master threatens this integrity by entering the Shells and manipulating the brains. The special unit section 9 of the Japanese secret service is used for defense.
