The new Netflix series “Bet” is currently conquering international streaming charts, but not everyone is enthusiastic about the adaptation. We summarize.
Mediocre reviews
On May 15, 2025, the live action series “Bet”, which adapted the manga and anime hit “Kakegurui”, celebrated its premiere at the streaming service Netflix-and that was extremely successful, although the fans of the Japanese templates were rather disappointed.
Because while “Bet” cuts off on average on popular websites for evaluating film and television (Rotten Tomatoes: 70 % and IMDB 6.1/10), Netflix can look forward to very satisfactory figures.
In his own global top 10 TV show list from Netflix, “Bet” was able to claim ninth place with 13.7 million streaming hours in his first week with 13.7 million hours of streaming. A more current ranking of Flixpatrol shows the series at the time of editing in the fourth place in the top 10 list for May 23, 2025.
Now we also want to know your opinion: Have you looked at the series? And if so, how do you like it? Share it in the comments!
If you prefer to use anime, you can also find it on Netflix together with the Japanese live action adaptation. The original manga series by Homura Kawamoto and Tooru Naomura appears in German through altravers.
