The new director of the third season of “One Punch Man”, which was launched just a few days ago, once again contacted the fans on his official X account with an emotional request. We summarize.
Director dampens expectations
After the responsible anime studio JCstaff had already dampened the high expectations of the fans of the third season of “One Punch Man” a few months ago, director Shinpei Nagai now renewed these statements.
Nagai, who has taken over the direction of a TV anime for the first time and had to take a lot of criticism because of his lack of experience, explained that the third season would probably not reach the level of the first season:
“I am aware of the meaning and responsibility to carry a work that is so important to you. Maybe you don’t like it or it makes you angry. But someone has to take over this load.
I decided and I am ready for it. It will probably not get the first season. But in the new episodes there is all the zeal and creativity of the creators. I ask you to recognize that alone. “
Appeal and fans
He then addressed the fans an appeal not to bother the production team online. He also explained the background, which is why some spectators with the quality could possibly be dissatisfied:
»Nowadays there are many studios that are strongly financed by large corporations. Much of the talents are there. But as I have said many times, I would like to support JCstaff – a studio that, despite the lack of financing of such a group, improves its working hours and promotes its employees.
Please stop pressing myself with harassment or questions that I cannot answer due to NDAs. I ask you about it. “
The third season of “One Punch Man” starts on October 5, 2025 with a recap episode on Japanese television. Crunchyroll shows the sequel to the Simulcast.
