A new trailer was released today on the official website for the upcoming original film “Scarlet”, which you can watch below. It has also been confirmed that the film will also be released in an IMAX version.
Cinema release in November 2025
“Scarlet” (Japanese: “Hateshi naki Scarlet”) is being created at Studio Chizu under the direction of Mamoru Hosoda (“The Girl Who Leapt Through Time,” “BELLE”), who also wrote the original story and screenplay.
The main roles of the Japanese voice cast include Mana Ashida (Yui in “The House of the Lost on the Cape”) as Scarlet and Masaki Okada as Hijiri. Yutaka Matsushige voices the character Cornelius.
According to current plans, the evening filler will celebrate its premiere in Japanese cinemas on November 21, 2025, before opening in local cinemas in Germany and Austria on January 29, 2026. Further details are still open.
