NewJeans amassed 800 million streams on Spotify with their 2023 hit “OMG” as of March 31, Ador said Wednesday.
It is the first song from the group to do so.
“OMG” is the title track from their physical single released in January 2023. The hip-hop R&B tune rose to No. 74 on Billboard’s Hot 100 during its six-week stay.
The single made the annual K-pop best songs lists from Billboard magazine in the US and NME in the UK in 2023. It went double platinum in Japan in 2024 for surpassing 200 million plays, recognized by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
Meanwhile, the quintet has put activities on hold since last month after a court approved an injunction filed by Ador. NewJeans seek to challenge the court ruling over their contract with the agency.
