The group NewJeans reportedly strengthened their defense team ahead of the second head to head with ADOR.

According to the legal community on the 21st, NewJeans submitted an additional letter of designation for a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract filed by its agency, ADOR, on the 9th. As a result, a total of 13 attorneys will proceed with the trial in addition to Sejong, a law firm that is in charge of the existing legal representation. With a large number of big-name former officers joining, the lawsuit is expected to be a “confrontation of the century.”

ADOR also appointed 12 lawyers through Kim & Chang’s law firm. Both sides respond with the nation’s largest law firm and a large group of lawyers, showing the tense conflict between those who will run parallel.

In November last year, NewJeans engaged in independent activities, claiming that the contract was terminated due to the violation of Ador’s exclusive contract. In response, Ador filed a lawsuit against NewJeans to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract, preserve the agency’s status, and preventing them sign advertising contracts. The cited provisional injunction in March blocked all routes of NewJeans’ independent activities, and the members filed an objection, which was rejected. NewJeans has declared a suspension of its activities and filed an appeal.

Last month, the company conducted its first interrogation of the exclusive contract validation lawsuit, saying, “It doesn’t make sense that NewJeans cannot exist without former CEO Min,” and NewJeans also maintained their position, saying, “We can’t trust Ador, whose management has all been replaced.”
