One of the most well-known and popular romantic comedy anime series of all time, Toradora!, is leaving Netflix next month. The series, which initially aired in 2008-09, was first added to the Netflix streaming service in August 2020, marking four years since its arrival on the platform.

Via What’s on Netflix, Toradora! will officially leave the platform on Aug. 1, 2024. It’s joined by fellow anime titles Darwin’s Game and Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea Season 1 on the same day, alongside live-action series including Autumn’s Concerto Season 1, Office Girls Season 1, The Prince Who Turns into a Frog Season 1 and You’re My Destiny Season 1.

Toradora is among the most popular rom-com titles in anime history, currently ranked 24th all-time on MyAnimeList — above several major fan-favorite shonen titles like Spy x Family, Bleach and Fairy Tail. To this day, protagonist Taiga Aisaka also remains one of the most recognizable tsundere characters in anime — a staple of J.C.Staff’s anime in the 2000s and ’10s, which included the likes of Shakugan no Shana‘s Shana, The Familiar of Zero‘s Louise and Hayate the Combat Butler‘s Nagi. The series proved polarizing in some ways but was largely praised by viewers for Taiga and Ryuji’s character development and eventual romance. ANN’s Blu-ray sales data shows its figures remained consistent across numerous releases, routinely pulling in the high thousands.
