One of the best new Fantasy anime series is coming back for a second season next year, and the anime has shared the first look at what to expect from the new episodes. It’s been a great time to be a fan of Fantasy anime releases in particular as not only have there been a number of notable Isekai shows making a name for themselves in the past few years, but traditional Fantasy stories are starting to come more into the spotlight as well as fans jump further into these magical new worlds. And one particularly fun series is already coming back.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword made its premiere last year as one of the standout hits of the Summer, and it was such a success that a second season was quickly announced to be in the works. Scheduled for a launch sometime in 2026, now that we’re much closer to the new season’s premiere Wistoria: Wand and Sword has dropped the first look at the new episodes. Dropping a special teaser trailer and poster for the new season, you can check it out in action below.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 Shares First Look

Bandai Namco Filmworks has confirmed that Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 will be releasing sometime in April 2026 as part of the Spring 2026 anime schedule, but a more concrete release date has yet to be announced at this time. Based on the original series written by Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (which is currently waiting on news for its own anime’s future) creator Fujino Omori and illustrated by Toshi Aoi, Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 will be featuring a returning staff from the first season of the series with some heavy hitters behind it all.

Tatsuya Yoshihara (who is behind the upcoming Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc) will be returning as chief director for Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 for a joint production between Bandai Namco Pictures and Actas. Hideaki Nakano will be serving as director for the new episodes with Sayaka Ono returning to provide the character designs and Yuki Hayashi composing the music once more. A potential returning voice cast from the first season (along with any new additions) have yet to be announced as of this time. But there’s plenty to be excited about already.

Why Wistoria: Wand and Sword Is Special

Wistoria: Wand and Sword is certainly a special Fantasy anime series that has really separated itself from the rest of the pack. The series follows a young man named Will, who enrolls in a magic academy with the hopes of becoming one of the best mages of all time like his childhood friend. But Will himself can’t use any magic, and has thus had to find his own way of fighting within this very intense world. Sharing aspects of its world with hits like Black Clover and Harry Potterthe anime still stands out in its own right.

With Will instead focusing on his physical combat abilities and fighting with swords, he slowly gains the respect of all of the others around him as the first season saw him taking down some very tough monster enemies and more. With this second season picking up from where everything left off, now is the best time to catch up with everything that has happened so far with the first season of Wistoria: Wand and Sword streaming with Crunchyroll.
