A few days ago, the “One Piece” animator Sota Shigetsugu criticized the sound quality of the recent 1127. We summarize below.

Attention: spoiler! On April 27, 2025, the 1127. Episode of “One Piece” celebrated its premiere and finally showed the well-awaited encounter between Luffy in Gear-5 mode and Admiral Kizaru, which was adapted according to the hype with outstanding animation. Without question a festival for the fans – you might think.
However, many spectators criticized the sound quality. Some even claimed to have heard sound effects from the “Dragon Ball Z” era of the 90s. Even the animator Sota Shigetsugu understandably burst the collar:
“I think TOEI should urgently be released by the› One Piece ‹sound team. It’s not a professional work. “
In the past year, Shigetsugu has already led up similarly about the sound quality of “One Piece”. Toei animation has not yet reacted publicly to the criticism, but Shigetsugus contribution has now been deleted.
The anime implementation of »One Piece« is available in Germany at Crunchyroll (complete), ADN (individual parts) and Netflix (only Eggead). The German-language version of the German-language version takes place on ProSieben Maxx.
