The popular animator Vincent Chansard has commented on the allegations of several fans that TOEI animation against the »One Piece« character Sanji is found. We summarize the details below.
Unequal treatment
As part of a live stream on the YouTube channel Brago D. ACE, Chanhansard was asked by a fan whether it could be the case that TOEI animation would hate the character Sanji Vinsmoke from the anime implementation of »One Piece«.
Channard was surprised and unveiled that he and his colleagues had already asked himself this, after all, the unequal treatment of Sanji was more than clear compared to the other characters:
»If you look at all Zorro and Sanji scenes as well as the names of the animators involved, there is inevitably an imbalance. But I don’t understand where it comes from – because I know exactly that people who decide who is responsible for these scenes do not take care of agendas or the like. “
Criticism of dealing with Sanji
He tried to find a possible explanation and suspected that Zorro’s scenes may be left to the better animators because they are usually longer and rather contain narrative elements. However, he emphasized that this was only his personal theory as a “one piece” fan-not as a involved in production.
Incidentally, the whole discussion was triggered by an incident in episode 1123, in which Sanji was particularly poorly presented – which caused fans for fans. For example, he was painted out of a group picture compared to the manga, and a combat scene with S-Shark was significantly changed to its disadvantage.
The anime implementation of »One Piece« is available in Germany at Crunchyroll (complete), ADN (individual parts) and Netflix (only Eggead). The German-language version of the German-language version takes place on ProSieben Maxx.
