One Piece‘s anime has reached an intense new phase of the Egghead Arc, and the newest episode has finally unleashed the true power of its greatest villains yet. One Piece: Egghead Arc has been on a hot streak ever since it capped off the flashback into Bartholomew Kuma and Jewelry Bonney’s past, and chaos has now erupted across the island as the Marines are trying their best to wipe out Dr. Vegapunk’s work. But it’s now gotten the attention of all of the Five Elders, and Luffy is up against some of his toughest foes in the anime to date.
One Piece: Egghead Arc Part 2 saw Dr. Vegapunk start broadcasting a special message around the world following his death, and the Five Elders have sprung into action before the message reveals too much. Now that they are moving into battle, fans are seeing that each of them has as much monstrous power as Saturn. This is complete with devilish new forms as well as One Piece Episode 1144 has fully unleashed their transformations into the anime at last.
One Piece’s Five Elders Make Their Full Anime Debut
One Piece Episode 1144 picks up shortly after Vegapunk’s message starts to broadcast around the world, and the Five Elders have rushed to Egghead in order to stop it. Much like how Saturn was suddenly summoned to the island through a dark pentagram, the other form Elders start to arrive at the island in the same way. Their dark Haki erupts through the island, and it’s something Luffy and the others take note of as being much more dangerous than other Haki they have sensed in the past. And with their monstrous forms, it’s clear that they are going to be some major trouble to deal with going forward.
Much like Saturn has demonstrated in the previous episodes, the Five Elders all have gigantic monstrous transformations. While it’s revealed that they can also use halfway transformations that still show off some of their humanity, most of them instead opt to use their Kaiju sizes to their advantage. Coupled with the fact that they also seem to be as impervious to damage and heal as quickly as Saturn did in the previous episodes too, and it proves why these Five Elders stand as some of the highest authorities in the World Government in the series overall.
What’s Next for the Five Elders?
One Piece: Egghead Arc Part 2 has enacted a major ticking clock for the anime’s episodes to come. Dr. Vegapunk’s message to the world will start broadcasting some secrets about what he’s discovered about the real truth in history, and the Five Elders are going to go through great lengths to put an end to that. Luffy’s now more targeted than ever before as now all the Elders are facing off against him directly, and that’s going to make escaping from Egghead more impossible than before.
Now that One Piece’s anime is working its way through the Final Saga of the series on a whole, each new arc is that much more important to setting up the grand finale. The Five Elders have made their move, and that means we’re going to see each of the bigger characters making their move as well as there’s only going to be time to set up for a much bigger war to come in the future. And Luffy’s going to be right at the center of it all.
