For the 10th anniversary, Apple Music published a list of the top 500 most streams of songs of all time-but only a single anime song made it into this selection. We summarize.

Just an anime song

Finally, it was repeatedly discussed that Japanese music increasingly deteriorated to a synonym for anime music and that their success would depend accordingly on the anime industry-but apparently this is not the case.

Because in the top 500 of the most frequently streams of songs on Apple Music there is only one anime song, whereas a total of nine other Japanese songs, all of whom have nothing to do with anime, are represented.

Unsurprisingly, of one anime song is, of course, the hit “Idol” by Yoasobi, which has already been able to record several awards and successes in the past. Nevertheless, the extremely popular song in Apple Music’s top 500 list only occupies 291st place.

The most successful Japanese song of the ranking also comes from Yoasobi and is called “Yoru ni Kakeru” (also known as “racing into the night”). With 91, this ends up just in the top 100. The full list can be viewed here.
