The publisher poly band Anime recently announced that the license was secured in the Japanese-French fantasy film “Ghost Cat” (Jap: “Bakeeko Anzu-Chan”). We summarize below.

After current planning, the 90-minute evening filler appears on August 29, 2025 with German language version and in the original sound with German subtitles on DVD and Blu-ray. A pre-order from online retailer Amazon is already possible.
The Studios Shin-Ei animation and Miyu Productions were responsible for the production of “Ghost Cat”, where Youko Kuno (“Magic”) and Nobuhiro Yamashita (“Higashi Asia Bunka Toshi 2019 Toshima”) directed.
The world premiere of the strip, which adapted the original manga of Takashi Imashiro, took place on May 21, 2024 at the Festival de Cannes in France. The Japanese theatrical release took place on July 19, 2024.

Karin’s father leaves her in a remote village in Japan. There she lives in a temple with her grandfather, where the sluggish ghost cat is used as her guardian. Since Karin does not trust, she prefers to turn to the forest spirits.
To impress Karin, a pact with the devil is unintentionally enters – and triggers the chaos of hell.
