Irene and Seulgi of Red Velvet will make a comeback as subunit in May, according to a local media report on Friday.
The two will be returning about five years since they formed the first Red Velvet subunit to release the EP “Monster.” The mini album topped iTunes Top Albums Chart in 50 regions, as well as a series of music charts at home and in China.
Separately, Seulgi released her second solo EP, “Accidentally On Purpose,” last month.
Red Velvet’s latest album is the EP “Cosmic” from June last year, which was reissued in August. The group has yet to announce its next steps together, but Wendy and Yeri decided to part ways with SM Entertainment after their contract completed its term earlier this month. Yeri reportedly is in talks with Blitzway Studio, an agency focused on actors.
