Group SEVENTEEN’s fifth full-length album “HAPPY BURSTDAY” set a new record for Kpop initial sales this year.

According to Hanteo Chart, a website that aggregates album sales, “HAPPY BURSTDAY” topped weekly charts with 2,521,208 copies sold in the first week of its release (May 26 to June 1). Seventeen, which achieved double million seller on the day of its comeback, solidified its popularity by adding the initial sales record. This makes “HAPPY BURSTDAY” as the album with highest number of sales among all the Kpop albums released for this year.

“HAPPY BURSTDAY” topped the daily music charts of Hanteo Chart and the “Worldwide iTunes album” soon after its release. It remained at the top of Japan’s Oricon “Daily Album” for five consecutive days. In China’s QQ Music, it topped the daily and weekly “Digital Best Seller Album” and was certified as a diamond album with sales exceeding 5 million yuan.

The title song “THUNDER” is also very popular. It topped the daily Bugs chart for two consecutive days and topped the Melon Top 100 chart, maintaining its upper ranks. The performances that were presented in music programs are also gaining popularity.

SEVENTEEN is set to continue their 10th anniversary celebration with more activities. The third episode of their newest entertainment show “NANA BNB with SEVENTEEN” will be released today. The full version will be available on Weverse every Monday and Friday for a total of six episodes. On June 4th, Joshua will appear on the web entertainment show Naraesik, and on June 6th, Seungkwan and Vernon will appear on “Hal Myung-soo,” as well as Mingyu on “Hyeri’s Club.”
