From livestreamed concerts to new album and major show at KSPO Dome, veteran K-pop group gifts fans an unforgettable May
May is shaping up to be unforgettable for SHINee fans, as the band plans a series of special events to celebrate its 17th anniversary.
Having debuted on May 25, 2008, SHINee has designated May 18 to 25 as “SHINee Week” this year.
To kick things off, SHINee will stream recordings of the group’s first through fifth concerts via its official YouTube channel at 8 p.m. from May 18 to 22. Following that, the group will hold its seventh concert, “ESSAY: Every Stage Shines Around You,” at the KSPO Dome in Songpa-gu, Seoul, from May 23 to 25. On the actual debut anniversary, May 25, the group will cap off celebrations with a new release.
The upcoming release will include two tracks that showcase SHINee’s latest musical and performance style.
Now marking 17 years since their debut, the SHINee members continue to thrive both as a group and as individual artists.
Leader Onew recently completed his first solo North American tour, “Connection,” and is set to release his second full-length solo album in July. Minho, who debuted as a stage actor last year with the play “Waiting for Waiting for Godot,” has since solidified his presence with the comedy play “Rendezvous.”
Youngest member Taemin wrapped up the finale of his first solo world tour “Ephemeral Gaze” at KSPO Dome in late April, while Key, who held a solo Asia tour and released a solo album last year, is actively appearing on various entertainment shows this year.
