Weekly Shonen Jump 2025 Issue 31 revealed that the latest information surrounding the Black Clover anime will be unveiled in its upcoming issue, scheduled for release in Japan on July 7, 2025. The teaser statement read “Media Grimoire… We will bring you the latest information on the TV anime ‘Black Clover’!! Fans are sure to be excited! (Media Magic Book…We’ll bring you information related to the TV anime ‘Black Clover’!! Fans will surely be excited!)“

Black Clover’s Studio Pierrot To Focus on Long-Running and Fast-Produced, High-Quality Anime Series

While Pierrot has a storied history of long-running anime like Black CloverPierrot producer Yoshihiro Tominaga revealed last year that recent developments in the anime industry have forced the studio to reconsider its approach, stating that they’re not good at producing extremely high-quality works in a short period of time. He cited the quality of Jujutsu Kaisen as an example (Men’s Non-No).
Tominaga added that Pierrot needed to strike a balance between long-running series and quickly produced high-quality titles, which prompted the launch of the new PIERROT FILMS division in 2024. PIERROT FILMS has since produced BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Cour 3. Pierrot has also announced business alliances with Asahi Production and Red Dog Culture House to strengthen its production capabilities.
Black Clover adapts Yuki Tabata’s manga of the same name, currently serialized in Jump GIGA. Tatsuya Yoshihara was credited as director for the first 152 episodes, and then chief director for the remainder. Yoshihara will direct the upcoming Chainsaw Man movie and received praise for his work on Wistoria: Wand and SwordAyataka Tanemura (Sword of the Wizard King) directed episodes 153 to 170.
