Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has already ended ten series this year thus far, and it seems like the biggest romance series in the slate could be ending much sooner than fans might be ready for. Shonen Jump has been going through a huge period of chance as many of the older franchises have come to an end, and many of the other newer ones trying to take their places are now finding their footing. But it doesn’t seem like the era is done changing just yet as some of the others are nearing their potential finales quicker than ever.
There have been a number of the older series from Shonen Jump that have started their final arcs, and it seems like Koji Miura’s Blue Box just might have started its own as well. While the newest chapter of the series has not officially confirmed that the manga has kicked off its final arc, its latest developments seems to be pointing towards that grand finale. As its main romances settle and the students move on into the future, Blue Box just might be ready for its own ending soon and fans should brace themselves just in case.
Blue Box Could Be Ending With Shonen Jump Soon

Blue Box kicked off its run with Shonen Jump back in 2021, and introduced fans to its central duo of Taiki and Chinatsu. As the two of them competed to accomplish their respective sports dreams, a romance sparked between the two of them that has now reached a whole new level. Chinatsu has officially graduated from high school, and Taiki and his friends have kicked off their final year of school in the latest chapter. In fact, Blue Box Chapter 211 is titled “The Final Year” to further emphasize the fact that the ending is drawing near.
Taiki still has to finish out his last year and try one more time to make his badminton dreams come true, but that’s pretty much all there’s left to resolve. Blue Box seems like the kind of series that could potentially follow its characters until much later points in their respective lives, but there’s been a cloud hanging over the series for the last few chapters especially. With the melancholy of the school year ending, it’s felt bittersweet for the past year as the series has been rounding out its final romantic threads and character connections.
Is Blue Box Really Going to End?

Blue Box has been the standout romance of Shonen Jump in the modern era, and its blend of sports action within its chapters also takes it to a new level. The TV anime adaptation took that success to such a level that a second season is now in the works, so it does seem like it might be an odd time to start thinking about the end of its story. But with two of its romances getting clearer and more in place, Blue Box really is tying all of these final threads it needs to before it can end in full.
It likely won’t be ending anytime soon as Shonen Jump has yet to even reveal if this can be considered to be a final arc, but it’s hard to imagine that Blue Box will be running for another 100 plus chapters. Shonen Jump has been skewing towards shorter runs for each of its series overall, and this could be the start of that winding down period for this once. It’s just a matter of seeing just how close that ending will actually be.
