A few days ago, Attsushi Kaneko, producer of “Solo Leveling”, provided a surprising statement for frowns among the fans. We summarize.
Temporary or premature end?
The anime adaptation of “Solo Leveling” is undoubtedly one of the most popular titles worldwide, which is why the announcement of a third season seemed to be only a matter of form. But there was little to see after the celebrated second season – on the contrary, rather a bad news followed.
The responsible producer Atsushi Kaneko did not proclaim the expected start of production of a sequel, but the preliminary end of the anime:
»With Episode 25, the TV anime series› Solo Leveling ‹will end for the time being. Will this end be temporary or not? To be honest, I don’t know what the future will bring. The encouragement and support of all spectators may go on, but maybe not either. ”
These words do not sound too positive and caused violent discussions among fans. But is an early end of »Solo Leveling« really likely?
Anime in Japan gefloppt
First of all, the statements should not be given too much meaning, because it should be almost impossible that the anime is no longer continued – after all, it is far too successful internationally.
Rather, overlaps with other productions, a full schedule or other resource shortage should simply not make a start of production at the current time. At the same time, you would also like to use this fact to stir the advertising drum, because as is well known, “Solo Leveling” is not particularly successful in Japan, so that even disc sales have flopped.
In addition, rumors have already rumored in the past few months that a third season could probably be long in coming after the first two seasons were released at a distance of just one year. A deserved break, which is therefore well granted to the animators of A-1 pictures.
It is very likely that a third season of “Solo Leveling” will be produced at some point, possibly followed by a fourth or a film, since the anime has so far only adapted about half of the web toon or the novel. As soon as there is news, you will of course find out from us.
