Star Blazers 2202 Complete Blu-ray Box Announced — Release Set for February 2026
Publisher KSM Anime has officially announced that the sci-fi anime Star Blazers 2202 will soon
receive a full Blu-ray complete box release. The news has generated excitement among fans of the franchise,
especially those who have been waiting for a high-quality, all-in-one edition. Here is everything you need to know.

According to current information, the complete Blu-ray edition of Star Blazers 2202 is scheduled to launch on
February 19, 2026. The set will include all 26 episodes of the series in both German and Japanese audio,
providing fans with multiple viewing options. In addition, the collection will feature a picture gallery and a selection
of trailers as bonus material.
The anime adaptation was produced by Studio Xebec, well-known for its contributions to sci-fi and mecha
productions. The series was directed by Nobuyoshi Habara, whose previous work includes
My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s. The screenplay was handled by acclaimed writer
Harutoshi Fukui, widely recognized for titles such as Space Pirate Captain Harlock.
Together, their creative vision helped shape Star Blazers 2202 into a memorable and emotional continuation
of the Yamato saga.
Originally released as an OVA series in Japan, the episodes were published between February 2017
and March 2019. Star Blazers 2202 serves as the direct sequel to
Star Blazers 2199: Space Battleship Yamato, which also received a Blu-ray release in Germany through KSM Anime.
Fans of the classic Yamato universe will appreciate the thematic and narrative continuity between the two series.

The legendary warship Yamato, retrofitted with state-of-the-art weapons and propulsion systems,

in order to secure humanity’s survival.
