New details about the upcoming film were announced on the X account of the original anime “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”. You can find a teaser below.
Heavy start in February 2026
The new sequel film, which bears the title “Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie – Walpurgisnacht: Rising”, is expected to start in the Japanese cinemas in February 2026. A specific appointment is still open.
The studio is again responsible for the production of the strip, in which Yukihiro Miyamoto (“A Ninja and an Assassin”) is again directed and Akiyuki Shinbou (“Fire Works”) acts as a chief director.
The original “Madoka Magica” series comprises twelve episodes that ran on Japanese television in 2011, two compilation films and a first sequel in the form of a third film that celebrated its premiere in October 2013.
