Stefan Wintels in an interview about the limits of KfW & zombie companies

Frankfurt Ever since Russia attacked Ukraine, KfW has been in demand as a crisis helper more than ever. In his first interview as head of the state development bank, long-time investment banker Stefan Wintels admits that the emergency measures to combat the crisis “will be at the expense of our climate policy goals in the short term”. That’s why he calls for “greater efforts” in the conversion to a sustainable economy.

Wintels sees a “serious situation” on the financial markets and warns of further severe price fluctuations. In view of this situation, the danger of talking about a financial crisis must be avoided.
