The publisher KSM Anime announced today that the drama film »Summer Wars« will be published on 4K-Blu-Ray and Blu-ray in a few months.
DISC release in October 2025
“Summer Wars” is expected to appear on October 23, 2025 in an Ultimate Edition that is sold exclusively at Anime Planet and contains the film with German and Japanese language version on 4K-Blu-Ray and Blu-ray.
Interviews, storyboards, cinema spots, TV spots and trailers are offered as extra. The design has not yet been unveiled. We will keep you up to date as soon as the publisher reveals more information.
A limited steel book version, which also contains the strip on 4K-Blu-Ray and Blu-ray, as well as a standard edition will come to regular trade on the same day. There are trailers as bonus material.
The two-hour film “Summer Wars” from 2009 was directed by Mamoru Hosoda (“Belle”) in the Madhouse studio and will soon receive a 4K performance in German cinemas. An appointment is still pending.
