Ichiro Ishikawa, President of TV Tokyo-one of the largest television channels of Japan and central player in the anime industry-has revealed his ambitious plans to establish anime even more abroad. We summarize.

Three titles as draft horses

As early as May 2025, TV Tokyo gave first insights into future program strategies when presenting the results of the last financial year. However, the protocol of this session was recently made public.

In it, Ishikawa commented on the most important anime IPS of the transmitter and the plans to expand the global presence of TV Tokyo, especially by focusing on raising other successful titles to the level of “Naruto”:

»Our anime business is already represented worldwide, but our goal is to strengthen the profitability of titles such as› bleach ‹,› gintama ‹and› Black Clover ‹and bring them to the same level as› Naruto ‹. This year we also have anime such as ›Hotel Inhumans‹ under our direction and we plan to actively expand our foreign business through the use of such recognized IPS. «

Strong growth

Due to the strong growth of your own network in North America, too much dependence on the Chinese market in international sales could be avoided. Now it is planned to develop previously undeveloped regions such as the Middle East, India and South America.

TV Tokyo has already built cooperation with local companies in India in order to publish the »Naruto« films across the board in the cinemas. The first strip came to the large screen in June 2025 with several language versions.

In the recently launched autumn season 2025, TV Tokyo and partner channels connected to the broadcaster are the sequels of “Spy X Family” and “One Punch Man” as well as the fantasy-anime “The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess” and “My Status As to Assassin Obviously Extreds the Hero’s”.
