Around eight months after the broadcast of “Uzumaki”, the anime producer commented on criticism of the series. We summarize.
Catastrophic implementation
The manga series »Uzumaki« by the renowned horror author Junji Ito is undoubtedly one of the best works of the genre (Myanimelist score: 8.16), but unfortunately this cannot be asserted by the anime adaptation in any way.
Because even if this causes bleeding for the spectators in any case, this is unfortunately not meant as a compliment to the horror title, but rather to be understood as a criticism for the underground quality of the anime (Mal score: 5.72).
He captivated countless fans after the first episode of the first episode and was praised – but that should change soon, because the other episodes of the four -part series lost considerably in quality.
Production got out of hand
The reasons for this are still not known. However, producer Jason Demarco recently brought at least a little light into the dark as part of an interview, although he did not reveal what exactly got out of hand:
“I shouldn’t go into detail about what exactly happened, but we were pulled over the table. In the end we faced three options: a) leave the project unfinished and completely refrain from broadcasting, b) only finish the first episode and write off the rest as loss, or c) radiate all four episodes – despite all weaknesses and problems.
We chose option C out of respect for the work done.
After such a long waiting time, it is understandable that many are disappointed and upset. Unfortunately, I cannot say who is responsible, but it is certain: a lot went wrong and we all had to make the best of it under difficult circumstances. “
This is probably the case of “Uzumaki” anime adaptations into the long list of “driven on the wall”, or have you gained a different impression when looking at? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
