1) One Piece by Eiichiro Oda: 516.6 Million (Official) / 543.6 Million* (Projected)

one piece volume 1 by eiichiro oda
  • Story, Art: Eiichiro Oda
  • Note: The 516.6 million figure is accurate as of Volume 103’s release in 2022. The most recent One Piece Volume 112 cover states that the last 56 volumes of One Piece have all had a first print run of 3 million copies. Since Volume 103, a further 9 volumes have been published, thus adding an extra 27 million copies and bringing the total circulation count to over 543 million copies.

To be even more exact, Tsukuru magazine data suggests that One Piece actually has a first print run of at least 3.2 million copies for its volumes, rather than 3 million, which would add another 1.8 million to its circulation count.

Notes:

  • Doraemon is listed by some sources as 300 million. However, this comes from the figures for Tentomushi Comics, the imprint that Doraemon is published under and comprises several other series. Anime! Anime! reported it at 100 million in 2015.
  • Some sources put the collective circulation count of Crayon Shin-chan by Yoshita Usui and New Crayon Shin-chan by UY Team at 148 million. This would put it at #9 above Attack on Titan. However, the data on this wasn’t convincing. As recently as May 6, 2025, Crayon Shin-chan publisher Futabasha put the figure at 134.7 million (Source: Futabasha). This also includes “related books,” which probably shouldn’t count.
