A few days ago, Google Play Japan started his own anime series with “My rebirth as Android user” (Japanese: “Tensei Shitara Android Yūzā Datta”). We summarize the first details below.
Very short episodes
The anime series “My rebirth as an Android user” celebrated its start on June 14, 2025 with a double episode. Until July 21, 2025, a new episode appears weekly-available via the official YouTube channel and the X-profile from Google Play. However, each episode is only about 15 seconds.
The story is about a gamer who suddenly finds itself in the “Google Play World” – a world in which playing is particularly important. With his Android smartphone, the protagonist Ando sets off an adventure that even exceeds his wildest dreams.
The anime is produced by the WIT Studio (“Spy X Family”) and Google Japan under the direction of Yasuhiro Akamatsu (episode director at “Attack on Titan”). The singer Eve (Opening of “Jujutsu Kaisen”) contributed the title song “Insomnia”.
Daiki Yamashita (Deku from “My Hero Academia”) lends his voice to the protagonist ando. Other characters are brought to life by Shiori Izawa (Nanachi from “Made in Abyss”) and Marina Inoue (Armin from “Attack on Titan”).
