Cho Seung-youn, popularly known as WOODZ, recently shared his plans for upcoming activities during a live broadcast following his official discharge from the military.

WOODZ was discharged on July 21st and immediately reached out to his fans, referred to as MOODZ, through a live broadcast on the fan platform Berriz. This marked his first activity after returning from his military service.

He appeared on camera still in his military uniform and greeted fans, saying, This is my first time in a fan community, and I’m so happy that there is a space where I can talk intimately with global MOODZ. He also revealed his future plans, particularly regarding communication with fans: There are many things I want to do through Berriz. I will actively hold live broadcasts and share many memories with MOODZ.

WOODZ discussed his song “Drowning,” which was released in April 2023 while he was serving in the military. The track became a hit, topping music shows and charts. He shared, I didn’t feel the popularity right away, but it was amazing to see it gradually go viral on social media and rise in the song’s rankings.

Following the massive success of “Drowning,” WOODZ shared his sincere thoughts on music creation and chart rankings. He explained that he rarely considered chart positions. He reflected, If I want to pursue music for a long time, what mindset do I need? Focusing on the charts would prevent me from continuing for long. However, if I create songs that I genuinely want to share and feel passionate about, then I can keep doing this.

Although he mentioned that a new album cannot be released at the moment, he reassured fans that he is diligently working on it. He also expressed his determination to be more active in the future, stating, I’ll live hard as WOODZ, a man with 12 bodies!

The singer-songwriter and producer has a busy schedule ahead for the second half of the year. He will be performing at various music festivals, including Japan’s largest music festival, ‘Summer Sonic 2025,’ on August 16-17, and the ‘Busan International Rock Festival’ in September.
