10 Ways The One Piece Anime Has Aged Poorly
----- ADS-----
One Piece has aired for over twenty years and earned its place as the most popular and successful anime of all time. That being said, with over 1100 episodes over the span of twenty years, One Piece has run into numerous problems that plague the series, from poor pacing to outdated animation and gags that haven’t aged well since its release in 1999.
One Piece is beloved by many, but certain things can’t go unnoticed by modern audiences in an age where quality is king. And hopefully, Luffy can become the pirate king before the next decade, given One Piece‘s love for dragging the story for as long as possible. At least, fans won’t have to wait as long for Studio Wit’s remake that will hopefully address a majority of the series’ problems.
One Piece has been airing since 1999, and it goes without saying that early episodes of such a long-running series would become outdated to modern audiences. While not a fault of its own, One Piece‘s early episodes, particularly of the East Blue Saga, haven’t aged well given they were made in a 4:3 aspect ratio, which was only updated to a 16:9 aspect ratio by episode 205, a whopping two hundred episodes before the anime updated to modern screens.
