The film rental Luf Kino recently announced that the second “Ghost in the Shell” film will be brought to the cinema in a few weeks. We summarize.
Heavy start in May 2025
The approximately 99-minute evening filler runs for the 20th anniversary of the German theatrical release from May 6, 2025 for a limited period in the 4K remaster version in the German cinemas. The ticket sales have already started.
The Studio Production IG was responsible for the production of “Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence”, in which Mamoru Oshii (“The Fire Hunter”) directed. The Japanese cinema premiere took place on March 6, 2004.
The strip is based on Masamune Shirow’s original manga series, which was published in the “Young Magazine Kaizokuban” from March 1989 to September 1991. The completed work is available in a volume at Egmont Manga.
