The Dragon Ball franchise has been around for four decades, and Goku has been the main protagonist throughout its entire run. Goku’s power level was quite low when the franchise launched, but he is now one of the strongest fighters in the universe. Goku has defeated many characters over the years, and several of his fights ended with no clear winner. That being said, Goku should have actually lost to certain characters.
Kid Goku should have lost to several characters in the original Dragon Ball series, but a number of factors spared his life. As an adult, Goku should have lost to multiple characters, but other characters either helped him win or saved his life. He would have definitely lost to one specific character in Dragon Ball Super if their fight had not been stopped.
Top is the leader of Universe 11’s Pride Troopers, and he is currently training to become Universe 11’s next God of Destruction. Top blamed Goku for the creation of the Tournament of Power, so he challenged him to a fight during the Zeno expo. The Omni King approved and Top immediately overpowered Goku’s Super Saiyan form. Goku was able to fight on par with Top once he used Super Saiyan Blue.
