Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Wreaks Havoc in an Emotionally Charged Battle

Episode 5 of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest ends one battle and begins another, and it’s a positive trade. Episode 4 suggested that round 2 between Team Natsu and the three known members of Diabolos would be exciting here in Episode 5, but that fight isn’t Episode 5’s highlight after all. Kiria and her allies fight well, but the real meat of the matter is the brewing battle against the Water God Dragon Mercphobia, which is Episode 5’s main selling point.
The himbo hero Natsu Dragneel can now handle wizards like Madmole just fine, but pushing around Diabolos isn’t how he will complete the legendary 100 Years Quest. When Natsu and his friends return to the coastal town of Ermina, an aquatic catastrophe awaits them as Mercphobia goes wild in his dragon form, and Karameel implores the team to kill him and end his rampage, an idea Natsu isn’t too keen on. Meanwhile, Touka finds herself dragged back to the Fairy Tail guild hall, where her White Mage side leaps to the fore and launches the next phase of her insidious plan, leading to an enticing cliffhanger as Episode 5 concludes.
Several minutes into its runtime, Episode 5 of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest shifts its focus to the real challenge that faces Team Natsu: sealing away the Water God Dragon as his power goes out of control in Ermina. Fighting the members of Diabolos is one thing, but no matter how Diabolos ranks among the strongest wizard guilds, nothing can compare to fighting a gigantic dragon whose size even puts Igneel to shame. This titanic challenge is why no one has completed Elefseria’s quest in an entire century, and it’s the first real taste of just how challenging this quest really is. This is the payoff that Fairy Tail fans have been waiting for since this new anime started, and the fight promises to only get bigger and more brutal in the next few episodes. Fortunately, despite having only five fighters on hand, Team Natsu is ready for this challenge.
