Jungkook of BTS exceeded 5.5 billion plays on Spotify with his first solo album “Golden.”
The album became the first-ever from an Asian solo singer to reach the milestone, and did so in just 540 days — the shortest time for a studio album from an Asian artist. “Golden” topped the list of most-streamed albums on Spotify from an Asian male artist this year as well.
Of the 11 tracks on the album, prerelease “Seven (feat. Latto)” contributed the most, generating over 2.3 billion streams, another first for an Asian artist, followed by focus track “Standing Next to You,” with more than 1.1 billion streams.
He has amassed over 8.7 billion streams on the music platform on his own.
Jungkook, along with four other BTS members, will complete his military duty by June.
