Kim Jinhwan of iKON was discharged Saturday, agency 143 Entertainment said.
He did his mandatory military service as a social service agent from July 2023, and on the day of his discharge, he hosted a livestream to catch up with fans. The main vocalist and the oldest member was the first from the six-piece band to enlist. Bobby and Jung Chanwoo began serving in May last year; Song Yunhyeong followed three months later.
Before enlistment, Kim dropped “Blue Moon,” the second installment of his first solo set that included “Paradise.” The track topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in five regions.
He was planning to host a solo tour in Japan in July 2023, but had to cancel the tour.
The last full-group endeavor from iKON is the digital single “Panorama” from 2023.
