Junichi Suwabe, the Japanese voice actor of Ryomen Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen, recently did a brief interview for the Japanese Shonen Jump YouTube channel. In the video, Suwabe expressed his love and appreciation for another Shonen Jump manga currently being serialized: Blue Box.
Social media user @/Go_Jover on X (formerly Twitter) provided a quick English translation of Suwabe’s comments regarding the Blue Box manga. Suwabe wants fans to check out the work by Kouji Miura and says he looks forward to its release every week. In the Shonen Jump video, Suwabe also talks about reading Blue Box from the perspective of a parent and older adult, as the series is focused on the youthfulness of its high school cast. In particular, Suwabe sympathizes with Kengo Haryu, the older rival of the manga’s main protagonist, Taiki Inomata.
Written and illustrated by Miura, Blue Box is a romantic sports comedy that began its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on April 12, 2021. The series follows Taiki, a badminton player, and Chinatsu Kano, a basketball player, as they both strive to reach the National Championships in their respective sports. While Taiki has always had a crush on Chinatsu, their relationship unfolds unexpectedly after her parents start working abroad and she moves in with him and his family.
