The South Korean entertainment industry has once again shown its generosity as numerous Kpop idols and celebrities rally to support those affected by the recent devastating wildfires. With widespread damage displacing thousands, artists from top agencies have made significant contributions to aid recovery efforts.



BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Jisoo were among the first to step forward. On March 27, Jennie donated 100 million KRW (~68,138 USD) through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, expressing her heartbreak for those struggling due to the disaster. The next day, Jisoo contributed 150 million KRW (~102,208 USD) to the Korean Red Cross, hoping her donation would provide strength to victims and firefighters. Both artists have a history of philanthropy, with Jisoo previously donating all proceeds from her personal YouTube channel to Save the Children.

Their donations are part of a larger wave of generosity from Kpop idols across multiple agencies. From SM Entertainment, major contributions came from:

    • Mark, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jeno – 100 million KRW each

    • Taeyong, Haechan, Jungwoo, Johnny, Jisung – 50 million KRW each

  • SM Entertainment (Company Donation) – 300 million KRW

The wildfires, which began on March 21, have caused severe destruction, displacing thousands and damaging historic landmarks. As relief efforts continue, the overwhelming support from Kpop idols demonstrates their deep connection to their communities and commitment to humanitarian causes. With their contributions, South Korea moves forward in rebuilding and recovering from this tragedy, supported by the generosity of its entertainment industry.
