Akase Akari, whose ending song for My Dress-Up Darling has received over 14.9 million views, has stunned fans with her recent Marin cosplay during her trip to the United Kingdom this month.
Via PR Times and X (formerly Twitter), Akari wowed fans in London, England, with her attendance at Hyper Japan Festival 2024. Hyper Japan Festival celebrates all things manga, anime, music, fashion, food, gaming and tech, with this year’s event taking place from July 19-21, 2024. Akari cosplayed the anime’s lead protagonist, Marin Kitagawa, to reportedly massive cheers, performing eight songs. Unsurprisingly, this included the My Dress-Up Darling ED “Koi no Yukue.” Readers can check out the images and more information below.
In addition to “Koi no Yukue,” Akari performed Oshi no Ko opening “Idol” by YOASOBI, Puella Magi Madoka Magica opening “Connect” by ClariS, Bocchi the Rock! opening “Seishun Complex” by Kessoku Band and Naruto Shippuden opening “Blue Bird” by Ikimonogakari. Her performance included English segments as she emceed, and concluded with a huge round of applause. On the performance, Akari said, “I think there were some people who saw me perform live for the first time, but I hope that this will be a wonderful memory for those who watched the concert and that it will make them love Japan, anime, and anime songs even more.”
