My Hero Academia has been a beloved anime by people around the globe. Although it is a shonen anime, girls and women love it just as much as males. However, many female fans have noticed a bleak phenomenon regarding female characters, especially now that Season 7 is airing. No matter who the female character is, they are always either pushed to the sidelines or die within a few episodes after their debut.

Female characters are only brought out when they are needed to move the plot along. Most of them are seen as weaker than the male characters. Yet, even the strongest female characters are disposed of or irreparably harmed almost immediately. The first two episodes of Season 7 are particularly egregious on that front. My Hero Academia is a great show, but it continues to do its female characters, and female audiences, dirty after seven seasons.

Despite the innumerable characters in My Hero Academia, the female characters seem to fall into four categories. While most of the male characters are Pro Heroes or students training to become Heroes, the female characters are usually moms or students. Only a few females are shown to be Pro Heroes or Villains.
