The streaming service Netflix recently announced that an English-language live action adaptation of the manga series »Kakegurui« will be published in a few weeks. We summarize.
From May 2025 on Netflix
The ten -part series, which is entitled “Bet”, was produced in the Canadian studio of Boat Rocker Media, in which showrunner Simon Barry (“The Art of War”) wrote the script, directed the directory and acted as an executive producer. The international publication is planned for May 15, 2025.
In the main cast, Miku Martineau (Ani in “Kate”) as Yumeko, O’DrisColl (Sophie in “American Gods”) as Riri, Hunter Cardinal (Ben in “Scout”) as Michael and Aviva Mongillo (Juniper in “Workin ‘Mom”) as Dori.
The original manga series “Kakegurui” by Homura Kawamoto and Tooru Naomura has been published in the “Gangan Joker” magazine since March 2014 and appears in German in Germany. An anime adaptation, a spin-off anime and a Japanese live action series are already available at Netflix.
