Anime replenishment at Netflix: The new »Lady Oscar« film is now available on demand. We summarize below.

The two -hour evening filler is entitled “The Rose of Versailles” and has been viewed with German subtitles on Netflix since today with German language version and in the Japanese original sound.
The Studio Mappa was responsible for the production of the strip, the Japanese cinema premiere of which took place on January 31, 2025, in which Ai Yoshimura (“Kabukicho Sherlock”) took over the position of the director.
The 40-part first anime adaptation based on the original manga of Riyoko Ikeda was created in the Studio Tokyo Movie Shinsha and ran in Japan from October 1979 to September 1980. A disc release was carried out by KSM Anime.
