On the X-account of the anime adaptation of “A Couple of Cuckoos” (Japanese: “Kakkou no Iinzuke”), it was announced today that the second season will start on Japanese television in July 2025. You can find a first trailer below.

The second »A Couple of Cuckoos« relay is directed by Masakazu Hishida (»Viral Hit«), who also writes the script, in the studio Ouruto Noboru. Kyouko Kon creates the character design, while Rei Ishizuka composes the music.
In the main roles of the Japanese cast, Kaito Ishikawa (Jin in “Dan Da Dan”) as Nagi Umino and Akari Kitou (Hina in “Blue Box”) can be heard as Erika Amano. The Idol Group 22/7 sings the ending song “Anata de Nakucha”.
The 24-part first season of the anime implementation of “A Couple of Cuckoos” was created in the Studios Shin-Ei animation and Synergysp and ran in Japan from April to October 2022. In Germany, the Romcom series is available at Crunchyroll. The publisher also brought the anime on the market in two Blu-ray volumes.

16-year-old Nagi Umino, who was swapped at birth, hits Erika Amano on the way to meeting his biological parents. This urges him to play her sham friend to avoid marriage.
At his goal, however, Nagi discovers that his and Erika’s parents have decided to correct the original exchange by marrying the two – which makes Erika Nagi’s future fiance.
