On the X account of the anime implementation of “Lupin III”, new details about the upcoming movie were recently announced. You can watch a first trailer below in this article.
Heavy start in June 2025
The new strip, which is the first full “Lupine III” film with 2D animation for 30 years, is entitled “Lupin III-The Movie: Fujimi No Ketsuzoku” and starts on June 27, 2025 in the Japanese cinemas.
The Studio Telecom Animation Film is responsible for production, in which Takeshi Koike (“The Animatrix”) takes over the position of the director and Yuuya Takahashi (“Laughing Under the Clouds”) wrote the script.
The opening song, which is entitled “The IIIRD EYE”, comes from the Japanese rock band B’Z, which, among other things, has contributed the theme songs to “Detective Conan: The Darkest Night Commerce” and “Detective Conan: The Phantom of Baker Street”.
The original »Lupin III« manga by the author Monkey Punch, who started in July 1967, has already inspired several anime series, 2D and 3D films as well as TV specials.
