10 Ways Cooler is Cooler Than Frieza

Dragon Ball‘s countless villains have become just as popular as the heroes they take on in battle. Frieza is one of Dragon Ball Z’s earlier antagonists, but a character who has proven to be determined and resilient enough to repeatedly return and find new ways to challenge Goku and the rest of the Z-Fighters. Frieza is arguably more relevant than ever after his recent resurrection and game-changing Black Frieza transformation. That being said, Dragon Ball Z has also gotten a lot of mileage out of exploring Frieza’s older brother, Cooler, who is evidently just as evil as his sibling.
First introduced in Dragon Ball Z’s fifth feature film, Cooler’s Revenge, Coller quickly became a fan-favorite character. Cooler has since appeared in over 30 Dragon Ball video games and continues to grow more fascinating and fearsome. Cooler doesn’t always get the same attention and respect as Frieza, but evidence suggests that he’s actually the better of the two characters and has a lot more to offer.
Dragon Ball works regularly to surpass its previous heights, so it makes a lot of sense that Frieza’s evil brother, who is introduced after the galactic tyrant’s death, would have one more form than his sibling. Frieza’s fourth form is truly overwhelming and Cooler spends the majority of Cooler’s Revenge in this ascended state, rather than repressing himself in his weakest form. The film’s climax showcases Cooler’s fifth form, which proves to be considerably more intimidating than Frieza and Cooler’s fourth form. It’s a design that’s slightly less sleek, but it comes across as more utilitarian for battle.
