A Guide to Sailor Moon’s Romantic Ships
----- ADS-----
Sailor Moon is a classic magical girl shojo with romances that stand the test of time. There are plenty of amazing battle scenes, healthy and humorous friendships, and inspiring characters. Romance is one of the main driving forces of Usagi Tsukino’s story, from her love story in her past life to her love story in her current, reincarnated form.
Usagi and Mamoru have a classic romance that many people grew up watching unfold. The future king and queen aren’t the only ones with a well-written romance arc, though. Naoko Takeuchi wrote such compelling characters, many of whom have their own sweet romances.
The original anime doesn’t really touch on the more subtle piece of the Moon Kingdom and Silver Millennium backstory that involves the Shitennou and the Inner Sailor Guardians. The Inner Sailor Guardians are Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus; they acted as Princess Serenity’s chief guards and handmaidens. The Shitennou were Prince Endymion’s four knights, or Four Heavenly Kings: Zoisite the Knight of Purification and Healing, Jadeite the Knight of Patience and Harmony, Nephrite the Knight of Intelligence and Comfort, and Kunzite the Knight of Purity and Affection.
