When fans discuss Ash Ketchum’s best Pokémon in the Pokémon anime, they almost always focus the discussion around their strength. However, many of Ash’s Pokémon are great characters in their own right, and deserve to be judged for who they are, not how many Gym and League battles they’ve won.
Receiving even more development than their trainer, Pokémon like Charizard, Infernape, and Greninja are as easy to root for as Ash himself. Even those that don’t develop still often have sympathetic backstories, or entertaining personalities and running gags that always make them a joy to watch.
Just like in the Alolan games, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, Nebby is super cute in the Sun and Moon anime. Spending much of their time in the series as a Cosmog, Nebby is like Ash’s baby, often seen in his arms (or in his bag with Rowlet). While they leave Ash shortly after, the bond between the two helps Nebby to evolve into the awesome Solgaleo.
