The official Dragon Ball website has turned back the clock 34 years, with resurfaced crossover artwork inked by Akira Toriyama for an official collaboration between the manga series and McLaren’s Formula 1 team from 1990.

As part of the ongoing Toriyama Archives series, which resurfaces old and rare art from the legendary creator for just 24 hours, the Dragon Ball website’s latest release featured a piece of crossover color artwork with the popular racing tournament, Formula 1. The illustration debuted as a folded poster in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 26, released on May 29, 1990. Readers can check it out below, featuring Goku, Bulma, and Gohan.

The above artwork was described: “This image represents a fantastic collaboration between Dragon Ball and the McLaren F1 team, which was sponsored by Weekly Shonen Jump. Toriyama was known for his love of F1, and it shows in his stunning composition and machinery designs! The Dragon Ball and Jump logos also add a stylish touch to the team uniforms.”
